Secretary Blinken discussed cease-fire, hostage release, and Gaza rebuilding with foreign officials.
Last week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the United States is investing an additional $135 million into humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians, making the announcement at a press conference with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister. During the announcement, Secretary Blinken also appealed for an end to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, and affirmed that cease-fire negotiations are still underway.
“In referring to negotiators coming back together, that was referring specifically to negotiations on the return of hostages and a cease-fire for Gaza, and that is the entire focus of their work. Separate from that is work that we’re doing, also very intensely, on Lebanon to reach a diplomatic resolution,” Secretary Blinken said during the conference in Doha, Qatar.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for Secretary Blinken as he pursues peace in the Middle East.
- For the president, vice president, and administration officials as they continue to send money to foreign countries.
